Accessibility & Inclusion
Ember is a justice-centered, LGBTQ+ affirming gathering committed to radical belonging. We honor chosen names and pronouns, design for a wide range of bodies and brains, and welcome the questions, doubts, and journeys people carry. Because this is our first year and resources are limited, our capacity is too—but our commitment isn't. We can't promise every accommodation, yet we will communicate clearly, explore alternatives, and do as much as we responsibly can. Please share your needs here: Submit an accessibility request
Pronouns & Names
We ask for your pronouns at registration and provide pronoun stickers at check-in. Staff and volunteers model pronoun sharing and will honor chosen names across all materials.
Mobility & Physical Access
Event spaces use accessible entries and step-free routes between sessions. Wheelchair seating and companion seating are reserved in all venues. If you need early seating, a specific chair type, or an accessible route map, let us know in advance.
ASL interpretation / captions
Our ability to provide ASL interpretation depends on volunteer availability. We've reached out to local churches and community groups to seek volunteer interpreters, but we cannot guarantee ASL support at this time. If you would benefit from ASL or live captions, please submit an accessibility request.
Neurodiversity & Sensory Support
We'll provide a quiet/low-stimulus room, clear signage, and content warnings for potentially activating sessions. You're free to stim, stand, sit, or take breaks as needed.
Food
We will not be serving food or beverages at this gathering. Please plan accordingly. Attendees may bring personal snacks and water (subject to venue policies).
Restrooms
All restrooms are gender-inclusive where possible. Where facilities are fixed, we will clearly label safe, inclusive options.
Service animals
Service animals trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability are welcome. They must remain under the handler's control at all times and be housebroken. If you plan to attend with a service animal, you're welcome (not required) to let us know in advance so we can support you—please submit an accessibility request.
Financial assistance
We're not able to offer financial assistance or scholarships this year as it's our first year. We hope to provide more options in the future.
